Date of Visit: March 26,2014

Kawasan Falls in Badian Cebu

Transportation/ Direction: In Cebu City, at South Cebu Bus Terminal, take the Bato-Badian-Moalboal Bound Buses. Get off at Brgy. Matutinao (Kawasan Falls Marker/ Nearest Landmark is the Church of ) and walk 1km to Kawasan Falls.

*in our case, we hired a motorcycle taxi (habal-habal) from the west side of Cebu specifically the last stop was Osmena Peak. Read my previous post.

Lodge: the cheapest rate is P900 (fan room, with cr,no wifi, from my estimates it can accommodate up to 4 persons)

Main Attraction : Kawasan Falls
Balsa Ride Fee- P300
Service for Tour Guides – P150 (Will pull the “Balsa” to the Falls and will serve also as your Photographer)
LifeVest Rental – P50

*there are locals that will offer to carry your baggages to/from Kawasan Falls to the main Highway (with a fee/ tip of course). If you can carry it, Just politely say No and Be Friendly!

Lechon at Carcar City Cebu

*From Kawasan Falls in Badian, we took a Cebu City Bound Buses and Get off at Carcar City.Had our Lunch at Carcar Public City Market.

Lechon Order (Must Try in Cebu- CebuChon “Cebu Lechon”)
1KG Lechon costs P300
*We just ordered half kilo (Para Iwas Umay) for the two of us and partnered it by Puso’ (rice wrapped with coconut leaves-also famous in Cebu) and dine in at a random carinderia at the public market.

*Carcar City is famous for their “Chicharon” (Cracklings).Don’t leave Carcar without buying these for Pasalubongs (Take Home Gifts)
*There are Tourist Spots in Carcar ( Bahay na Tisa, Heritage Houses and etc). But for us having limited time we opted to visit and pay courtesy at Simala Church in Sibonga (next municipality south of Carcar)

Simala Church at Sibonga, Cebu
Simala Church also know as

*From Carcar City, we hired a tricycle (Carcar-Simala vice versa w/ waiting time – P200 plus P50 tip). Thank you to Ms “Chicharon” Vendor who negotiated it for us. Returning the favor, I bought several Chicharons from her. “ Daghan Salamat sa Imo Dai!. Ayo-ayo ha!”
*As a Catholic, (for all of my trips) I always look for Catholic Churches and pay courtesy, ask guidance and protection for the entire trip. (They say if it is your 1st time to this Church. “ You knock the Church Door 3x and Make a wish”)
*Believe to be Miraculous and I can attest to that for seeing Testimonials from devotees (an entire room or two big rooms for testimonials). For me writing this, had a safe and sound trip back to Manila and living, breathing, enjoying everyday is a Miracle . Peace!

Since we’re already at the Southern Part of Cebu and the Next Municipality North of Carcar City is my Mother’s Hometown –San Fernando. We had a quick and surprise visit to my relatives again! (Last visit was 2012). Visited  and Offered Prayers to my beloved Grandparents ,Relatives’ tombs.

Capping the Day was in Cebu City. Another Jampacked Day!. Time to Rest (I meant Long Rest until tomorrow’s lunch time. Hehehe).Well, I’ll be playing Tour Guide role ( for my first timer friend in Cebu City) tomorrow. Doze off!
