at Knickerbocker (recommended by my officemate who is a Chavacano
residing in Zambo also on her vacay)

Concerts at the Paseo Grounds, Dancing Fountain added as one of the main
attractions during that time and everybody’s waiting for the Fireworks Display
(30 Mins) by 10PM.

Tips and Information:
-Dialect ( Chavacano(Spanish creole), Bisaya and Tausug).Don’t
be surprised if you’re asking something and you heard “Si!” from their reply–it means
Yes in Spanish. Good Thing, I can understand and speak Bisaya and a little
Spanish (work related). “Hinde ako Mabebenta dito!”
- Airport: Look for the Entrance Gate and there you’ll find
the Jeepney going to the Pueblo (Fare:P8)
-From the Airport to Pueblo (Jeepney Route), it’ll pass
Camins Ave (location of some Lodges and Hotels near the Airport such as La
Terraza,Marcia Inn and Garden Orchid), Jeepney will turn right to Jaldon Street
, you’ll pass the street going to Atilano Compound (location of Pension Houses
for budget travelers and also will pass the street going to Canelar Barter
(goods from Malaysia for pasalubongs)
-Viva Pension House – Rates are reasonable, Rooms are
spacious, clean and fully air-conditioned with Hot and Cold Water Shower and
Cable TV, Security is Ok, situated Downtown, very accessible but has No WIFI.
-Pueblo (Downtown) – T. Claudio and Streets Nearby ( A lot
of Pension Houses, Lodges such as Skypark, Viva,Davids,Platinum 21, GC Hotel
(History), and Yangs)
-Pueblo(Downtown)- Shopping Centers are Southway, Gateway
and MindPro (Biggest) & Food Chains are Jollibee, KFC, Chowking, Dunkin
Donuts and Mister Donut
-Pueblo (Downtown)- You can see a lot of signage with the
word “Padjak” , a Tausug word for Pawn Shop.
-Tricycles are their Taxis in Zamboanga. Fare depends on
your destination (P30-P50).Try to Haggle
-Other establishments close around 7-8PM for security
reasons.
