Guimaras Countryside Tour
Date of Visit: Feb 27, 2014



Leaving Gigantes Norte, Carles Iloilo

Woke up. Breakfast at Gigantes Hideaway Tourist Inn

Breakfast Charge: P300/ 5=P60

Payment (Expenses): Just sum up the previous posts expenses (Plus Tip: Tour Guide and Kitchen: P500)

By, 845 AM Habal-Habal (Motorcycle Ride) to Docking Shore:  P10 per person

By 9:00 AM - The Only Ferry Trip going back to Estancia, Iloilo everyday (If you missed this, you have to stay for another night in Gigantes Norte or Hire your own boat which is pricey)

But before leaving Gigantes, One last challenge. Since its low tide the Boat can't stay near the shore, in order to transport passengers to the boat we need to ride a "Balsa", capacity: 10 persons. All of the passengers must be cooperative with Balance or else (Im not good with balance so i chose to duck sit for 10 mins (kakangawit!). My concern is what if it went upside down (Splash.Best in Wetness!  Goodbye Gadgets!)









By,1100 AM-11:30 AM- Arrived at Estancia Iloilo Port

Tricycle Ride from Port to Estancia Bus /Van Terminal - P10 each

Van Ride  from Estancia to Iloilo City (Tagbak Terminal) - P150 each

By 1:30 Pm- 200PM - Arrived at Tagbak Terminal 
*Since we were chasing time for our Guimaras Countryside Tour.No Lunch Yet, Just bought some snacks.

Jeepney Ride (Jaro Liko Route) from Tagbak Terminal- Ortiz Wharf (Pier going to Guimaras) - P12

Directions: How to Get to Guimaras?
From Iloilo Airport- Ride a Van (Airport) to SM Mandurriao and take a Jeepney bound to Iloilo City Downtown that will pass by Ortiz Wharf (Jump off point to Guimaras Island)
From Bacolod(Breadco Port)-Ride a Fastcraft(1 Hr Ride-2GO,Oceanjet and Weesam )to Iloilo City(Muelle Loney Port),then from the port just walk for 10 minutes to Ortiz Wharf.

Ferry Ride from Ortiz Wharf (Iloilo City )- Jordan Port (Guimaras) -P14 for 15 minutes

*Registered to their Municipality Tourism Office (Nueva Valencia).It's my 2nd time here in Guimaras ,my 1st visit was August of 2011 (still on my travel backlog lists)

By 300 PM, Started our Guimaras Countryside Tour

If you don't have any contacts,no need to worry there are a lot of tricycle and multicab drivers offering their services at the port or go straight to the Municipal Tourism office and ask for assistance. Do Haggle!

Our Itinerary (Guimaras Countryside Tour)

*in particular order of visit
-Small Plaza 
-Spot (Overlooking Iloilo City)
-Museo de Guimaras (still under renovation)
-Mango Plantation
-Trappist Monastery (Visited their Chapel , Gift Shop/Souvenir Shop closed by 4PM)
-Pitstop Mango Pizza ( A must try in Guimaras- Im not sure if there are other places has this.One of my reasons why i returned to Guimaras. "Babaw Lang!")
-Sunset at Guisi Lighthouse (the Highlight of the Tour- P10 entrance fee)- Guisi pronounce as "Gisi" not "Gwisi".






  






  
  








Tour Cost: P2000 (pick up at the port/ countryside tour /multicab rental). 
*Kinda expensive huh. If you're in a small group, you can hire a tricycle or if you have a lot of  time you can DIY each of the tourist spots. Just ask locals for directions.

By 700 PM, Arrived  and Checked in  at Raymen Resort

Raymen Resort - P950 (fan room w/cr) + P125 (P25each) (entrance fee for Non-AC rooms)=  1075/ 5= P215 each

-Dinner (Wow Rice Meal! (Nomnomnom).Since we missed our Lunch earlier). 
-Freshen Up (My White Polo Shirt became Dirty White since some of the roads in Guimaras are not yet paved."Free Powder" (Shades of Brown).
-Had 2 bottles of San Miguel Light before Sleeping Time

*If you're into nightlife ,Raymen Resort is boring (my observation also last 2011).Restaurant's last order is at 800PM.If you wish to have beer session with friends,go outside the resort but be sure to return by 11PM (closing time of Raymen's Gate)
*Raymen's Resort is located at Alubihod Beach, there are also resorts and accommodations at  Guisi Beach near the Lighthouse. (Take Note: They're far from each other)
