How We Get to Osmena Peak?

From Oslob, take a Bus (Ceres or Sunrays) bound for Cebu and tell the “konduktor” (driver’s assistant/ticketman) that you will get off in Dalaguete specifically at the street going to Mantalongon.Travel Time 1.5 Hours.

From Cebu City, take a Ceres Bus bound for Bato,Lilo-an and tell the “konduktor” (driver’s assistant/ticketman) that you will get off in Dalaguete specifically at the street going to Mantalongon.Travel Time 2.5- 3 Hours.

Transportation

Habal-Habal Ride (Motorcycle) from Dalaguete National Rd to the Foot of Osmena Peak (P100 per person/plus waiting time/one way)

Trek from the foot to the peak for 30 mins with guide (P150 tip)

Wrong choice of Footwear

Information/ Tips

*During our visit,it was foggy and we didn’t have the chance to see the beauty of Osmena Peak and the view overlooking the west side of Southern Cebu –Badian part but we managed to be at the Peak submerged by sea of clouds (Hehehe).

*In our case we hired the Motorcycle (Habal-Habal) for P1000 from Dalaguete National Rd- Osmena Peak- Kawasan Falls in Badian.If you check the map, the geographic location of Osmena Peak is in the Middle of Dalaguete Municipality (East Side of Southern Cebu) and Badian Municipality (West Side of Southern Cebu). There are no Public Transportation passing by this connection, Motorcycles and Private vehicles only.

*Mantalongon tagged as the Summer Capital of Cebu or the Baguio City of Cebu. Proven and noticed that most residents are wearing jackets because of the cold weather.

*There are also campsites at Osmena Peak. Mountaineers this is your place,you can also trek from Osmena Peak going down to Kawasan Falls in Badian for 4 to 5 hours.

*I read from a blog posts that there are also homestays in Mantalongon,just coordinate and visit their Baranggay Hall for safe recommendations.

Time/Expenses  

6AM-1PM – Oslob Tour. Check my previous posts

100PM- 230PM –Travel Time from Oslob to Dalaguete (Ceres Bus (AC- P60)

230PM -315PM- Travel Time from Dalaguete Proper to Osmena Peak

315PM –430PM – Trek/ Stay/Photo Session at Osmena Peak

430PM- 600PM – Travel Time from Osmena Peak to Kawasan Falls Badian (P1000 Hired)

By 630 PM,Checked In at Kawasan Falls Lodge in Badian. 

700PM – 6AM – Checked In at Kawasan/Sleep (No Data Available. Snoring Perhaps) (P900 Non-AC/with ToiletBath Room)

Our last stop from our activities for this day was Kawasan Falls in Badian (West Side of Southern Cebu.Our  Habal- Habal Driver (Motorcycle) just drop us off at the Main Highway (with no knowledge that there’s another 1km long walk going to Kawasan Falls.”I don’t know what happened to my fellow Cebuano's attitude.They should be proactive helping tourists or maybe they’re just after the money”."Bai Pagtarong mo Ha!").It was 6PM then and we started to follow the trail (not well lit) heading to the Falls. Thank God we bumped into this guy offered us a Motorcycle ride to our destination (“Binawi ni Kuya yung disappointment ko”"Daghan Salamat Bai!").("Well I'm Generous pa naman giving Tip to those who are deserving!")

 

Me and Cels were dead tired for our Day II.Can you imagine we had Whale Shark Watching and Sumilon Island by Morning then Traveling and Trekking to Osmena Peak by mid afternoon and another butt numbing Motorcycle Ride to Kawasan Falls in Badian. After checking in we just unpacked some wet stuffs and slept until the following morning . #nodinner #jampackedtour #deadtired #chasingtime
